It’s like, you’re still connected, but you’re giving each other a bit more space just like in the solar system.
Jupiter
Jupiter, the big guy, represents your fifth closest friend in the Snapchat solar system. Instead of just showing a small icon beside a friend’s name, Snapchat Plus now turns your closest friends into planets in a Snapchat Solar System.
Here’s how it works:
- You are the Sun, sitting at the center.
- Your top 8 friends become planets, from Mercury (closest) to Neptune (farthest).
- The more you interact with a friend — sending snaps, chatting, or keeping streaks alive — the closer they’ll be to you in this solar system.
So if someone is your Mercury, they’re your #1 best friend on Snapchat.
It’s like a cosmic collaboration, where everyone gets to see their own unique social universe!
Okay, now after you’ve got the Solar System feature activated, let’s see how you can check out your friends’ solar system:
- Open Your Friend’s Profile.
- You’ll notice either a Best Friends badge or a Friends badge with a gold outline.
You’re still on friendly terms, but the interactions might be a bit more less. Since it’s part of Snapchat Plus, you’ll need the premium subscription to unlock it — but for active users, it’s a playful addition that makes Snapchat feel even more personal.
At the end of the day, don’t take the ranking too seriously.
I’ve watched mine shuffle after a streak streaks out, then comes back the next day.
How Does The Snapchat Planets System Work?
Once Friend Solar System is turned on in Snapchat Plus on iPhone, Snapchat quietly tracks snaps, chats, and streaks in the background. Jupiter: Your Fifth Closest Friend
- Meaning: Jupiter marks the fifth friend in your ranking.
- Visual Representation: A large reddish orange planet with darker bands and stars.
- What It Says About Your Friendship: Big presence, upbeat tone.
Stay tuned for further updates.
Mercury
First up, we’ve got Mercury, the speediest little planet and your absolute number-one best friend on Snapchat. Most changes reflect recent activity, not the full history or depth of a friendship. It maps activity, but it also mirrors the feeling of friendship, not only the count.
Here is what each planet means for your top friends, both in how it looks and what it suggests about your relationship:
1.
If chats slow down or a streak breaks, a friend can slide down or out of the top eight. Regular snaps and chats, steady rhythm, only a touch lighter than your top spot.
3. Always an interesting angle when a chat starts.
8.
Here’s how you can boost your orbit and climb the cosmic ladder:
- Snap More, Chat More: It’s all about interaction! Treat it like a scoreboard you glance at, not a judge of real life. This is the person you’re constantly snapping, chatting, and sharing streaks with.
Venus
Next in line is Venus, your second closest friend.
Rankings come from Snapchat’s algorithm and your interaction patterns, which means the system moves with your behavior.
- Data use: Snap and chat activity informs rankings, but details are not shared publicly outside your private solar view. Here’s how:
- Open Snapchat and tap your Bitmoji/profile picture in the top-left corner.
- Scroll to find the Snapchat+ section just below your username.
- Tap on Friend Solar System.
- Toggle the switch to enable the feature.
- Once activated, you can view your Friend Solar System directly from your friends’ profiles.
Tip: If you don’t see the option, double-check that you’ve subscribed to Snapchat Plus.
So, let’s take a tour:
Remember: This whole planetary system is just an entertainment, in-app prediction based on your Snapchat activity. If planets still do not appear, force quit Snapchat and reopen it, or restart the iPhone.
